Copywriting: Alpha Lambda Delta

During my sophomore year at college, I had the opportunity to become an Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) officer. As an ALD officer, I worked with other officers to create entertaining and educational events for our ALD chapter.

ALD officers also had a specific role. My specific role was the ALD Secretary. As the secretary, I ensured that the weekly meeting agenda was upheld. I also created thorough meeting minutes to help ALD officers and advisors keep track of the decisions made during our meetings.

I was also responsible for drafting, editing, and sending out effective email correspondence to ALD members about upcoming ALD events. This email correspondence announced the next upcoming event, explained how members could participate in the event, and highlighted how members could earn ALD memorabilia through event participation.

In addition to creating official correspondence and meeting minutes, I also assisted in designing promotional posters for ALD events. These posters would be placed around the school and posted to the chapter’s social media pages.

It was initially challenging to plan events. It was difficult to figure out what events ALD members were interested in and how to promote member attendance at these events. In the end, we were able to increase attendance for residential students while creating events that online students could also participate in. This was significant because our events were able to appeal to a much larger audience while also being more inclusive to online members.

Overcoming this challenge is one of the main reasons I enjoyed being an ALD officer. It helped me learn how to adapt a promotional strategy to appeal to a large, diverse audience. It also taught me valuable soft skills like teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, and resourcefulness.

In short, I was able to learn many valuable and crucial skills as an ALD officer. These skills make me a quality candidate for your next project.
